More on Happiness: Myth… Fiction…or Fate!

What is your belief of what happiness really is? Is happiness some sort of myth or fictional reality that we only get to experience for brief periods of time and then it disappears? Is happiness only available to us for limited times? More and more folks are coming to understand “what happiness is” and where real happiness can be found. Folks are discovering that real happiness truly exists and is available to everyone. Yes folks now know that they too can easily live a life filled with happiness, without sorrow. First of all it is important to understand that whatever we are holding in mind becomes our reality. If we would like to experience feeling happy all the time, that’s what we would be creating for ourselves, except in truth most of us aren’t aware how to do this consistently.

In order for us to live without sorrow, we simply need to change the direction of what we are holding in mind. By changing our focus, we can easily begin to transform unhappiness into happiness. If we are holding onto fear, our happiness is seemingly unavailable. We may believe that by holding onto fear will in some way protect us. In truth, fear is responsible for creating circumstances related to our being in fear. Fear is an emotion. It also is a reality based on limitation, scarcity, and doubt. When we are in fear, we are denying ourselves happiness and abundance. Emotions are either positive or negative. If our thoughts and emotions tend to lean towards being negative (fearful, angry, depressed, etc.), we have a chance to recognize these feelings are simply emotions. Once we understand this, we can then begin changing what we are holding in mind. When we are in higher energetic states, we are capable of discerning, which allows us to be able to make better decisions. Making a decision is the first step in being happy and successful. We refer to this step as being in courageousness. This is our first sense that we can achieve our goals and experience more happiness. In courageousness, we connect to positive energy that points us in the direction of having, doing, or being whatever we would like to experience. Then as we move up even further, we begin to realize that we can change how we feel about the challenges we have created for ourselves. Being in the energy of acceptance includes feeling abundant, loving, and communicating positively. In acceptance, we are capable of taking the necessary steps or appropriate actions to move towards completing our goals. Once we have accepted that our goals are possible, we can easily move further into the energy of peace. In peace, there is a wonderful feeling of being satisfied and happy. In peace we know that we are capable of having goodness without denial or punishment. Being in peace allows us to continue moving further along the path of happiness as there is no limit to being happy.

It is confusing to most people to realize that real happiness comes from within. Happiness and love are available to everyone at all times as this is our true nature. In truth, there are no impossibles if we aren’t holding them in mind. Perceptions of self-worth and happiness are only a reflection of our belief system. A belief is simply a decision that we made at a previous time. Once we let go and begin to change our perception, our reality will shift accordingly. As we let go of beliefs that aren’t serving our highest good, we can replace these past limiting thoughts with what we would like to now create. Out of habit, and perhaps fear, it never occurred to most of us that in order for us to have and experience happiness on a regular basis, that we have to let go of holding onto the habits of struggling, resisting, or rejecting as these strategies move us in the opposite direction of happiness. Think about it for a moment, when we are happy there is no effort. We aren’t in conflict with anyone. Everything is perfect. This perfection exists because in the moment that we are happy, we are simply being our true Self. We aren’t trying to be better than others or thinking others are better than us. We aren’t trying for attention. We aren’t trying to figure anything out. And believe it or not, there is nothing that we need to change or fix. We are happy simply because we are in present time. Being in the now is reflecting on what exists in this moment and seeing everything positively. So as we gain a better understanding of what happiness is and where it can be found, we can more easily admit to ourselves that we would like to experience this for ourselves.

Making a decision is taking the first step towards being positive. Being positive is the entry way towards having total happiness in all areas of your life. Lester Levenson, a scientist and engineer back in 1952 who was struggling with matters related to his health discovered the complete system of happiness with no sorrow. Due to life-threatening challenges that Lester faced, forced him to look more closely at what he was holding in mind. What he discovered is when he was looking for love, he was unhappy. He saw that his apparent unhappiness affected every area of his life. Lester also discovered that at the times when he was acting in a loving and positive manner, he was in good health. He noticed during periods of happiness, that the happiness came from within him; and when he was happy, he was in good health, his finances were plentiful, and his relationships were harmonious. He came to realize that his thoughts were affecting his external surroundings. Lester came to understand that non-loving, negative, and fearful thoughts are what create unhappiness and this philosophy affects everyone in an equal way. The translation of this means quite simply, that happiness equates to our ability to love. As a result of Lester’s introspection, he unknowingly uncovered the secret to happiness. He then spent more than 40 years sharing what he discovered so everyone could experience happiness without sorrow.
